The lepidolite specimens in this listing were collected from a vein found in Southern California. All have a rich lilac color and are in their raw form. Some of the stones contain clear to opaque albite crystals, a form of feldspar. One specimen has albite crystals and a small trace of pink tourmaline. This softer mineral can be easily integrated into jewelry or another craft project and they are a great way to add color to a mineral display.
There are two options when ordering and multiple sides of the exact specimens are shown in the listing photographs.
The five piece set has a combined weight of 6.1 ounces (174 grams). The smallest specimen measures 1.58 x .92 x .91 inches (40 x 23 x 23mm) and the largest in the set is 1.38 x 1.29 x 1.06 inches (35 x 31 x 27mm). Three of these have small albite crystals on their surfaces.
The single larger piece weighs 9.44 ounces (268 grams) and measures 2.66 x 2.56 x 2.00 inches (68 x 65 x 51 mm). Albite crystals are prominent on this specimen and the pink dot visible in photo #8 is tourmaline.
