Fire Sticks Pencil Cactus, 8 or 16 Rooted Plants - Free US Shipping

The succulents in this listing (Euphorbia tirucalli) have many common names including sticks on fire, firesticks, red pencil cactus and pencil tree. Their bright red, orange, yellow and green stems combine to create a striking living sculpture. These plants can grow to be quite large and are easy to care for.

The listing photos show 4 inch pots, each having eight individual plants that stand 9 to 12 inches above the soil surface. The contents of one of these or similar pots will be included with each order. These are well rooted and will ship without soil or pots.

Firesticks grow very quickly and are perfect for container gardens. There are a few things that are needed to ensure your plants remain happy and healthy. First, these plants require 5 to 8 hours of very bright indirect sunlight per day at a minimum. They must receive a couple of hours of direct sunlight to maintain their bright colors, however direct late afternoon sunlight may scorch them. Plant them in soil that drains extremely well. A succulent or cactus soil that contains 50 -75% coarse sand by volume is ideal. These are drought tolerant plants that will not like to be watered very often. The watering schedule will be determined by your location and climate, however here in Central Texas, I only water mine once per week during the hottest months of the year and once every 2 weeks during winter months. Although they may survive brief exposure to temperatures in the low 30's, prolonged exposure to anything below 50 degrees can harm the plants.
