The Texas Sotol (Dasylirion texanum) is an extremely heat and drought tolerant plant that forms clusters with individuals reaching a height of five feet. Also known as "Desert Spoon", their bluish-green leaves have evenly spaced spines that deter most animals, including deer.
A portion of the healthy and extremely well rooted plants being made available can be seen in the listing photographs. All stand a minimum of 18 inches above the soil and are shown in their 1 gallon containers. They will be shipped without their soil or pots.
Texas Sotol requires full sun and rocky soil with good drainage. Although they can withstand periods of wet weather better than many other sotols, planting them on small berms is usually a good idea. They are hardy to zero degrees Fahrenheit and maintenance is limited to removing dead leaves if desired.
We cannot ship these to addresses within the states of California, Hawaii or to any of the US island territories. Shipping to any other destination within the US is included in the listing prices. USPS or Federal Express may be used to transport the plants.
