Devil's Backbone, Variegated Euphorbia Tithymaloides, 3 or 6 Plants Per Order - US Shipping Included

The succulents in this listing may have more common names than any other plant I am aware of. Redbird Flower, Devil's Backbone, Buck-Thorn, Christmas Candle, Fiddle Flower, Jacob's Ladder, Zig-Zag Plant and Slipper Plant are a few of the most commonly used for Euphorbia tithymaloides. Many of these names are derived from the leaves that alternate along the branches, the stems that develop an angular zig-zag pattern and the small pink to red flowers that appear during summer.

The listing photos show 4 inch pots, each containing three separate variegated Devil's Backbone plants. All stand a minimum of 6 inches tall, are well rooted and branched. The contents of one or two of these or similar pots will be included with each order. The plants will ship with very little soil and the pots will not be included.

Euphorbia tithymaloides was formerly classified as Pedilanthus tithymaloides and is said to be native to a small portion of North America, Central America and Africa. These are very easy to care for and make great container plants. Their leaves will develop a pink color when exposed to certain growing conditions.

They typically grow to a height of 3 to 4 feet, however they may reach 8 feet in near ideal growing conditions. Plant them in standard succulent soil and place them in an area that receives bright indirect sunlight. Keep their soil moist but not soggy between late spring and early fall and reduce watering for the balance of the year. Protect from temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Plants all arrived packaged very well. Were a bit wilted, but perked up once placed in a pot & watered! Have ordered from this seller multiple times.
