Stenocereus griseus is a cactus that also goes by the names of Mexican Organ Pipe, Pitayo de Mayo and Dagger Cactus. Native to Venezuela, this plant was brought to Mexico and many Caribbean islands where it escaped cultivation and continues to prosper in the wild. Growing to a height of 25 feet, this cactus is prized for the fruit produced by mature plants in late spring.

One of the plants plants shown in the listing photographs will be included with each order. All stand 12 to 12-1/2 inches tall and have an average diameter of 2 inches. They are shown growing in their 1 gallon containers however they will be shipped without pots and soil.

These plants are not cold hardy and should not be exposed to temperatures below 50 degrees for extended periods of time. They prefer well draining soil and standard cactus/succulent soil works just fine. Place in an area where they receive between four and eight hours of direct sunlight per day, preferably morning thorough mid afternoon. Water once the soil has completely dried in warmer months. Water once per month between late fall and early spring.
