Every spring, the Peanut Cactus (Echinopsis chamaecereus) erupts into bloom and produces large orangish-red flowers. This is truly one of the most spectacular shows put on by any cactus. Native to Argentina, they are easy to care for and grow very quickly compared to other cacti.
A portion of the plants being made available are shown in the first four listing photos. Each cluster has a minimum of 10 branches or stems with at least one being over 3 inches in length. These will be shipped as shown, in their 2 inch pots with soil. The final two photos show two of the plants blooming in the spring of 2023.
These Peanut Cactus clusters will grow to a size of 2 feet in diameter with the stems tending to wind and swirl as they grow longer. They frequently branch and have spines are relatively soft. Because the stems may reach a length of up to 12 inches, they are well suited for growing in hanging baskets.
Plant these in standard cactus/succulent soil and place in an area that receives morning through early afternoon sun. Between late spring and early fall, water once the soil has dried nearly completely. Water only once every 4 weeks for the balance of the year. Although they may survive brief exposure to freezing temperatures, it is best to keep them above 50 degrees. A portion of the branches may become detached while in transit. If this should happen, simply place the piece on top of the potting soil and it will root.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not use heat packs and we are not responsible for damage related to the plants being exposed to cold temperatures.

The peanut cactus was just as described. I’ve purchased several plants from this seller. They’ve all been great quality plants. The seller shipped my order the day after I placed it as well.
