The colorful sets of cacti in this listing include a diverse mix of plants with some being harder to find. These assortments would be a great way to begin a cactus collection or expand an existing one.
The listing photos show all of the plants being made available in sets containing your choice of three, five or eight different cacti.
Plants in the three piece sets are shown in their 4 inch diameter black pots. All are columnar cacti that can reach a height of 15 feet or more when mature. One each of the following is included in the three cactus set:
Neoraimondia herzogiana (Baseball Bat Cactus): This Bolivian native has some of the longest spines of any cactus. The green stems will branch to form a candelabra shape.
Pilosocereus azureus (Blue Torch): Arguably one of the most beautifully colored of all cacti, their bluish green to deep powder blue stems are lined with golden yellow spines.
Polaskia chichipe (Chichipe): A favorite of many cactus enthusiasts, these columnar cacti are native to Mexico and will branch to produce a tree-like shape when older.
Plants included in the five piece sets are shown growing in their 4 inch orange pots and they are a mix of columnar and mounding varieties. One each of the following is included in the five cactus set:
Mammillaria elongata (Ladyfinger Cactus): A tight clumping cactus from Mexico that can form a cluster over 1 foot in diameter. The variety made available here is known as "Gold Lace" or "Golden Stars".
Tephrocactus articulatus var. diadematus (Spruce Cone Cholla / Pine Cone Cactus): Native to Argentina with an unusual form. These have greyish-blue to greyish-brown stem segments that resemble elongated pine cones and can grow to be 2 feet tall. All plants will have two branches attached to their stems.
Parodia scopa (Silver Ball Cactus): Growing to a height of up to 18 inches, these eye-catching cacti are covered by soft, silver spines. All of the plants shipped will be clusters containing a primary cactus as well as pups.
Myrtillocactus Geometrizans (Blue Candle): A fast growing plant with an attractive bluish-green color that is native to Mexico. They will branch to form candelabra-like trees as they mature and larger plants produce edible fruit in the spring.
Mammillaria voburnensis: A clustering cactus that may grow to formmounds 12 inches in diameter and 12 inches tall. All plants will have pups, baby plants, attached to the main stems.
The eight piece cactus sets will include one of each plant from BOTH of the sets described above.
All plants will be shipped with a small amount of soil, however the pots will not be included.
