Hand collected from a location near Austin, Texas, the pieces of honey calcite in this listing were selected for their fluorescent properties. When exposed to the light from a shortwave ultraviolet lamp, the calcite produces a vivid greenish-yellow glow. If limestone is present, it will be seen as a deeply contrasting red or pink.
The listing photos show the six exact sets of crystals that are available when illuminated by an inexpensive 395nM UV flashlight as well as how they appear in full spectrum daylight. The colors of the crystals may change if viewed with a light source having a different wavelength than we used when the photos were taken. They will only display fluorescent colors when illuminated by an ultraviolet light source and do not "glow in the dark".
The pieces were sorted into two different sizes (small and large) and divided into sets containing either 1/2 pound, 1 pound or2 pounds of material. Feel free to contact us if interested in an amount larger than 2 pounds.
The crystals were thoroughly washed several times after being collected however the soft minerals may need to be rinsed after they are delivered to remove dust generated during shipment.
Shipping to any address within the United States is included in the listing prices. Please contact us prior to ordering if the destination falls outside of the USA as transportation charges may not calculate accurately.
