Agave leopoldii is an attractive and hard to find succulent that is native to Mexico. The compact size and hardiness of this plant make it a great water-wise choice for placement in a container or rock garden.
We are offering these in your choice of three different sizes, with the listing photos showing all that are available.
Small plants will have an overall diameter of 8 to 10 inches and stand 7 to 8 inches tall. They were photographed growing in their 1 gallon containers.
Medium plants will be 12 to 16 inches in diameter and have a height of 8 to 9 inches. These are shown in 1 gallon pots.
The large agave measures 18 inches wide across the leaves and stands 13 inches above the soil. It was photographed in a 2 gallon container.
These will ship without soil or pots.
This compact agave grows to a diameter and height of 18 inches. The margins of the sharp pointed leaves separate, curl and turn white, giving the plant a "hairy" appearance. Although it can tolerate partial shade, the leaves will develop a reddish color when planted in full sun. It is a clumping plant that I have seen produce as many as 4 "pups" in a single year.
Leopold agave is hardy to between 10 and 15 degrees Fahrenheit, requires very little water and prefers well drained soil.
