The "Elite" cultivar of Myrtillocactus geometrizans is a rarer variety that is quite different from other Blue Candle cacti and would be great additions to any succulent collection.
These plants have trunks that are much thinner than the standard form of Myrtillocactus geometrizans and tend to twist and turn as they grow taller. They are also likely to branch multiple times and many mature specimens take on a bush-like form. The final listing photo shows an example of a mature Myrtillocactus geometrizans Elite.
We are offering these plants in three different sizes, with the listing photos showing a portion of the plants that are available.
Small plants will stand 5 to 6-1/2 inches above the soil and are shown growing in their 2-1/2 inch pots.
Medium size will have a height of 8 to 9 inches and large will be 11 to 12 inches tall. Both of these are shown growing in 4 inch containers.
All will be shipped without soil or pots.
Care is identical to that of other Blue Candles and most other cacti. Plant them in well draining soil and in a planter having plenty of drainage. Water when dry during summer months and only once per month at other times of the year. Direct morning through midday sun is ideal, however they can tolerate a location that receives a full day of bright indirect sunlight. Although they can survive temperatures as low as 25 degrees, they should be protected from frost and freezing if at all possible.
