This listing features stumps that were found on our Central Texas ranch and are the remains of red cedar trees that died at some point in the distant past. The outer layers of wood have decayed, leaving behind the durable heartwood interior. The similar surface texture and combination of gray, red and brown colors give these a weathered and rustic appearance.
After being collected, the stumps were washed and scrubbed to remove the vast majority of the loose material that was present. The trunks were then cut, allowing them to stand in an inverted position, roots up, as shown in the photographs. The two pieces are available individually (identified by their corresponding letters), or as a set containing both pieces.
In the descriptions below, "diameter" refers to the distance across the stump and includes the length of the roots that radiate from the trunk. The height is the distance from top to bottom when standing on the flat base.
