Myrtillocactus geometrizans (also known as Blue Myrtle Cactus, Billberry Cactus, Blue Flame and Blue Candle Cactus) is a fast growing succulent native to Mexico. These plants branch to form candelabra-like trees as they mature and larger plants produce edible fruit in the spring. Their attractive blue to bluish-green color and hardiness make them a great low maintenance choice for a xeriscape, rock garden or planters.
Examples of the well rooted plants being offered are shown in the listing photographs. Your choice of one, two or four of these or similar cacti will be included with each order.
The plants stand 4-1/2 to 6 inches above the soil. All were photographed in their 2-1/2 inch containers and will ship with very little soil and without their pots.
Myrtillocactus geometrizans can easily grow to a height of 8 feet, and can reach 15 feet under ideal conditions. Although they can survive temperatures as low as 25 degrees, they should be protected from frost and freezing if at all possible. Their needs are typical of most other cacti. Plant them in well draining soil and in a planter having plenty of drainage. Water when dry during summer months and only once per month at other times of the year. Full sun is ideal, however they can tolerate a partially shaded location.
We cannot ship these cacti to destinations within the states of California, Hawaii or to the US island territories. Shipping to all other US destinations is included in the listing prices.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not use heat packs and are not responsible for damage related to the plants being exposed to cold temperatures.
