Native to several countries in South America, Parodia scopa is commonly referred to as the Silver Ball Cactus. Growing to a height of up to 18 inches, these eye-catching cacti are covered by soft, silver spines. This is a cold hardy plant that is very easy to care for.
We are making these available as both solitary plants as well as larger clusters. The single plants have diameters ranging from 2 to 2-1/2 inches and the clusters contain 8 to 10 offsets. Plants representative of all that are available are shown in the listing photos growing in their 4 inch containers. These will be shipped with their soil and pots. These bloom in spring and when photographed on 4/10/23, all of the single plants, as well as the primary cactus in every cluster, had buds present. Depending on when they are shipped, the plants may or may not be in bloom.
These cactus can withstand temperatures as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Unlike many cacti, these should be placed in an area that only receives bright indirect sunlight, making them a great indoor plant. Place them in a container having well draining soil and water every 1 to 2 weeks.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not use heat packs and we are not responsible for damage related to the plants being exposed to cold temperatures.
