The weeping yucca (Yucca recurvifolia) is also known as soft leaf yucca and curveleaf yucca. These plants are native to the southeastern United States and are extremely hardy. They grow well in USDA zones 7 - 10 and will survive temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Their long draping leaves and large bloom stalks make them eye-catching additions to the landscape.
Examples of the plants being offered in this listing can be seen in photos 2 through 5. They are shown growing in 6 inch containers, with all standing 8 to 12 inches above the soil. These were started from the rhizomes of the mother plant shown in the first listing photograph. The plants will ship without soil or pots.
Weeping yuccas grow fairly quickly, can easily add 12 inches to their height in a single season and grow to be five or six feet tall. Mature plants produce a towering bloom stalk in the spring that is covered with large, creamy-yellow flowers. This stalk can extend an additional five feet above the foliage.
These evergreen shrubs are very drought tolerant once established and are deer resistant. They perform best when planted in full sun however they can also be grown in partial shade. It is adaptable to most soil types as long as it is well draining.
